Firefly Bookstore Announces Grand Opening of Their Store in Downtown Kutztown

Kutztown, PA 08/25/2012 - Firefly Bookstore announces their Grand Opening celebration for the opening of their new store on Main Street in downtown Kutztown. Beginning September 1st 2012, the events will begin with an open house featuring special discounts and raffles, along with refreshments and activities. They will be ending the week with a special event with local author Mara Rockliff and the launch of her new book "Me and Momma and Big John" on Saturday the 8th.

Owners and partners Rebecca Laincz and Matthew Williams have been developing the plan that would eventually be born as Firefly Bookstore for many years, while they honed their skills managing a variety of other retail bookstores. Helping other companies as they navigate through the many changes in the book industry over the last 10 years has demonstrated to Ms. Laincz and Mr. Williams that the successful book store should have strong ties to the community, a diverse and evolving selection of products, and a bright well-organized space to shop and browse. Firefly Bookstore strives to be all this and more as they launch their new retail store.

During the opening week there will be special sales and daily drawings for themed gift "baskets" featuring books, calendars and gift cards. Customers that wish to participate can enter for any or all of the daily giveaways. The author event with Mara Rockliff will be held at the store on September 8th beginning at 11am going until 3pm. The author will be available to discuss and sign her newest book, "Me and Momma and Big John", illustrated by William Low and released by Candlestick Press. All of her other books will be available as well including: My Heart Will Not Sit Down, The Busiest Street in Town(an IndieNext pick), the Milo & Jazz Mysteries (an ALA Best New Books for the Classroom pick), and Get Real: What Kind of World Are You Buying? (a Green Earth Book Awards honor book). Refreshments will be served, and there will be activities for children.
