- To Night Owl From Dogfish by Holly Goldberg Sloan and Meg Wolitzer. A story told in emails about two middle schoolers who have never met but whose parents are involved in a long distance relationship. The parents plot to send the kids to summer camp so they can meet.
- Greetings from Witness Protection by Jake Burt. Orphan Nicki Demere’s story. She's a middle schooler who is placed with a family that's in the Witness Protection Program.
